Know Before You Go

You'll find useful information about our Covid-19 precautions here.

Please note that we can't offer some of our usual facilities and attractions at present.

We've taken all the precautions recommended by Visit England including a full Risk Assessment and meet their "Good To Go" standard.
Please don't visit us if you're feeling unwell - especially not if you have Covid-19 symptons.
You’ll be asked to complete a registration card with contact details of all members of your party. We will hold this securely and destroy it after 21 days. If you like, you can download a copy here to complete before you arrive.
Please wear a facemask when indoors and when riding on trolleybuses.
We need to keep records of contact details for each group of visitors.  You’ll be given an entry card on arrival which will be collected when you leave. These will be held securely for 21 days and only shared with NHS Test and Trace.
Please maintain social distancing and board the trolleybuses by taking the seats furthest from the entrance first. You’ll need your entry card to show the conductor as you board.
Please pay by credit or debit card whenever possible. When paying by cash the correct money is appreciated.
We can only offer a restricted menu of cold food such as sandwiches and cake in our Tea Trolley Cafe, and there is no indoor seating.
Please maintain social distancing at all times. The number of people allowed at any one time in buildings is shown on signs.
The  number of people that can be allowed in the toilets is limited, so please be prepared to queue. Our toilets will be cleaned frequently during the day.
You'll find hand sanitiser stations around the Museum - please use them frequently.
Some buildings will have a one-way system and most will display notices showing the maximum number of visitor groups permitted at one time.

We have introduced enhanced cleaning regimes around the Museum during the day.

Our trolleybuses are sanitised at the start and end of each day.

Our staff have been fully briefed on Covid-19 protection measures to keep you, and themselves, safe.
