Know Before You Go

You'll find useful information about our Covid-19 precautions here. In line with Government guidance we have now eased many. However:

  • To protect our volunteer staff we encourage visitors to continue wearing face masks in buildings and riding on our vehicles; and
  • Although we have re-opened all our facilities and attractions, some may not be available if we have insufficient staff.

We've taken all the precautions recommended by Visit England including a full Risk Assessment and meet their "Good To Go" standard.
Please don't visit us if you're feeling unwell - especially not if you have Covid-19 symptons.
To protect our volunteer staff, some of whom have underlying health conditions, please wear a facemask when indoors and when riding on  our buses.
Please maintain social distancing where possible and board the trolleybuses by taking the seats furthest from the entrance first. You’ll need your entry card to show the conductor as you board.
Please pay by credit or debit card whenever possible. When paying by cash the correct money is appreciated.
Some of the normal menu items are not available in our Tea Trolley Cafe.
Please maintain social distancing where possible.
Our toilets will be cleaned frequently during the day.
You'll find hand sanitiser stations around the Museum - please use them frequently.

We have introduced enhanced cleaning regimes around the Museum during the day.

Our trolleybuses are sanitised at the start and end of each day.

Our staff have been fully briefed on Covid-19 protection measures to keep you, and themselves, safe.
