Brief History
The Italian firm of Lancia supplied 50 trolleybus chassis to Porto in 1966/7. These were the last double-deck trolleybuses built for service in Europe, and were fitted with locally-built Dalfa bodywork incorporating twin staircases and doors. The electrical equipment was from CGE.
After withdrawal in May 1996, its operator (STCP) donated 140 for preservation and it arrived at the Trolleybus Museum that July.
140 has subsequently developed an electrical fault which is proving difficult to trace and repair so it is not currently operational. It can be viewed at the Museum when accompanied by a member of staff.
