Vintage Motor Bus Tours
Our motorbus exhibits have representatives from the 1940s, 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. A number of these are in operational condition and a selection of these run tours round the local area on open days. Our usual offering is a tour of the Isle of Axholme, so called because it was once an island before the area was drained centuries ago. Indeed some of the area is still below sea level, the Museum itself being only a few feet above sea level today. The trip takes approximately half-an-hour and is accompanied by a guide who can tell you about the things you see on the trip. Like the trolleybus rides, these motorbus tours are free of charge. Occasionally, visiting motorbuses are used on these tours.
